Ralph Pöpel (born October 31, 1954 ) is a former German ice hockey player in the ice hockey Bundesliga and in the German national ice hockey team .

Career

Pöpel began his career 1973/74 season at VfL Bad Nauheim . The striker scored 109 points in 129 games in Bad Nauheim and developed into one of the team's top performers. Before the 1982/83 season he moved to the Mannheim ERC and was able to become German ice hockey runners-up with this team under coach Ladislav Olejník in 1983 and twice in the 1984/85 season . He achieved 95 scorer points in 146 games in Mannheim . After a year in the 2nd ice hockey Bundesliga with the now relegated team from Bad Nauheim, he spent four years with the team from Eintracht Frankfurt in the top German division from 1987 to 1991 , but could no longer match the statistical performance from Mannheim. In 1991 he joined the team from Bad Nauheim again for two years and then ended his professional career.
