Ramón Gregorio Abeledo (* 29. April 1937 ) is a former Argentine football player with the national team of his country at the FIFA World Cup 1962 took part and at club level most of the time for Independiente Avellaneda was active.

Career

Club career

Ramón Abeledo, born on April 29, 1937, began his active career as a football player with the CA Independiente club in Partido Avellaneda , an industrial suburb of the Argentine capital Buenos Aires . In 1955, Abeledo, who was found in midfield, was included in the professional team of Independiente. Here he played together with other Argentine football greats of the time such as David Acevedo , Osvaldo Cruz and José Varacka and made 87 games in the Primera División , the top division in Argentine football, scoring thirty goals by 1962 . With Independiente Ramón Abeledo won the championship of Argentina in the 1960 season , which meant the fourth of the club's fourteen championship titles to date, when the first place in the Primera División was occupied two points ahead of CA River Plate .

This title win was the only one of Ramón Abeledo with Independiente Avellaneda, he left the club in the year before the next championship, 1963 was again victorious in the championship, and was for some time without a club. In 1964 he came to two league games for Boca Juniors before Ramón Abeledo's active career ended at the age of 27.

National team

Between 1960 and 1962 Ramón Abeledo came on seven missions in the Argentine national football team , in which he failed to score. The midfielder, then in the service of Independiente, was appointed to the Argentine squad for the 1962 World Cup in Chile by national coach Juan Carlos Lorenzo . However, he was not used in the course of the tournament. The Argentine team, however, did not survive the group stage after finishing third behind Hungary , England and Bulgaria .

After the World Cup, Ramón Abeledo's national team career also ended after seven caps.
