Ramsbottom Rides Again is a 1956 British western comedy starring then-popular comedian Arthur Askey . The film was not shown in the German-speaking area.

action

Bill Ramsbottom sells his pub in England after his customers prefer to watch TV than drink his beer and move with his family to Canada, where he inherited a ranch from gnarled grandfather Wild Bill Ramsbottom. The crossing already causes difficulties; when they reach Canada they travel from St. John's to their farm. In a short time, Bill, who becomes the sheriff of the village of Lonesome as a condition of the inheritance, takes on the bandit Black Jake, Indian chief Blue Eagle and the prevailing law there.

criticism

Britmovie recognized a tedious and overly long parody of Destry Rides Again . “Hardly funny,” judged TV Guide. John Howard Reid, however, took him to his selection of the "Great Hollywood Westerns".

Remarks

Pop singer Frankie Vaughan made his film debut in the role of Elmer in the production of Jack Hylton Productions . Movie songs and their interpreters are: Ride, Ride, Ride Again by Frankie Vaughan and This Is the Night by Vaughan and Shani Wallis .

The film grossed £ 109,000 in the UK.
