The Ramthang Chang (also Ramthang Nord , Wedge Peak or Chang Himal ) is a mountain in the Kangchenjunga Himal ( Himalaya ) in the extreme northeast of Nepal .
The 6802 m high Ramthang Chang rises south of the Kangchendzönga glacier . A mountain ridge leads over the Ramthang Lho ( 6601 m ) south to the 7902 m high Kangbachen . On the southwest flank of the Ramthang Chang, the Ramthang Glacier flows in a westerly direction.
Ascent history
As part of an ascent of the Kangbach in 1974, a Slovenian expedition possibly climbed the Ramthang Chang from the south without a permit.
The (official) first ascent of the Ramthang Chang was achieved by the two Britons Nick Bullock and Andy Houseman on November 2, 2009. They climbed the north face (1800 m, ED + M6) from October 29 to November 2 in four days.
