Rancore

Rancore (* 19 July 1989 in Rome as Tarek Iurcich ) is an Italian rapper .

Career

Iurcich was born in Rome to an Egyptian mother and a Croatian father. His stage name Rancore means “grudge” in Italian. At the age of 14, he began to attract attention by participating in the Phat Roma freestyle competition . Supported by representatives of the rap scene such as Fi, Jimmy and Tetris, Rancore released his first album Segui me in 2006 . In 2010 Rancore was featured on DJ Myke's album Hocus Pocus with the title Lo spazzacamino , which was recognized as the best underground internet album by the independent labels in Italy . In collaboration with DJ Myke, the albums Elettrico (2011) and Silenzio (2012) were created, followed in 2015 by the EP Sunshine (released as a free download).

After further collaborations, Rancore released his next studio album Musica per bambini on the Hermetic label in 2018 . At the Sanremo Festival 2019 he accompanied Daniele Silvestri in his competition entry Argentovivo , in which the rapper was also involved as an author. The song reached sixth place overall and was awarded the Critics' Prize, the Press Prize and the Prize for the Best Text. With Eden , Rancore returned to Sanremo in 2020 and took tenth place as well as the award for the best text once again.
