The Randen Railway was a branch line in Baden-Württemberg . It ran from Singen (Hohentwiel) to Beuren-Büßlingen .

history

The line was opened on November 21, 1913 by the Baden State Railroad on the basis of a Baden law of September 2, 1908. The name refers to the Randen , a Jura table mountain range that is over 900 meters high and connects the Swabian Alb with the Swiss Jura .

From the Singen im Hegau railway junction, the railway ran west in the border area to the Swiss canton of Schaffhausen below Hohentwiel and Hohenstoffeln to the small town of Beuren, which is now part of the city of Tengen .

The Deutsche Bundesbahn ceased operations from Hilzingen with effect from September 25, 1966, and on November 21 of the same year it also shut down the remaining piece and dismantled the tracks.
