Randy Katana (* 14. March 1965 in Sint Maarten , Netherlands Antilles as Randy Joubert ) is a Dutch Tech Trance - DJ and -producer . He is also known by the pseudonyms Katana , DJ Randy , MAD MAD , Noski and Phantom .

biography

Born in Saint Martin in the Netherlands Antilles, Randy Katana lived in the Netherlands, Curaçao and Aruba for several years before going to college in Rome , Georgia , in the United States . In 1983 he broke off his training and went back to Saint Martin where he was resident DJ in Studio 7 , the largest club on the island, for several years .

In 1988 he tried his luck in the music business and went to Amsterdam . After a short stay in Switzerland he finally became resident DJ at the Tahiti Club in Scheveningen , which he stayed for nine years. He later became resident at Club XL in Amsterdam.

He celebrated his first successes in 1993 with his singles Sexual Intimidation and Erotmania as Katana. Later he concentrated mainly on the music label BPM Dance and the associated online shop Only-DJ's.com . In 2001 he started producing again and released the very successful single Fancy Fair and the following year Gemini . In summer 2003 he withdrew from label management and concentrated entirely on his career as a DJ and music producer. He subsequently released the singles One Solid Wave , In Silence , Pleasure Island and Play It Louder under the name Randy Katana . In November 2007 his debut album Spirit of the Drums was released .
