Randy Neal (born December 27, 1956 in London , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player and current coach .

Career

The defender Randy Neal began his professional career in 1975 at the Dutch club GIJS Groningen , with whom he was promoted to the first-class Eredivisie a year later . In 1977 he left the club with an unknown destination. From 1981 Neal played in Germany for TSV Peißenberg in the third-class Oberliga Süd . Three years later, Neal moved to the Bayern division ERV Schweinfurt , with whom he promptly rose to the Regionalliga Süd in 1985 . Despite sporting relegation, the club moved back to the national league .

After two years in the national league, Randy Neal moved to ESC Wolfsburg in the 2nd Bundesliga North in 1988 . He stayed there for a year before moving on to the upper division EC Nordhorn . With the Nordhornern he was runner-up in the Oberliga Nord in the 1989/90 season. It followed a year at EC Peiting in the Oberliga Süd, before he moved to Herford EG in the Oberliga Nord in 1991 and worked as a player- coach. In 1993 Randy Neal returned to the ERV Schweinfurt and played for the club in the Regionalliga Süd and 2nd League South. In the seasons 2001/02 and 2003/04 Neal played again for the Bavarian national division SC Forst .

After his playing career, Neal worked as a trainer for the Tölzer Löwen , TSV Peißenberg, HC Landsberg and ESC Dorfen . In the 2015/16 season, Randy Neal was voted coach of the year in the Bayernliga.
