action
In France, in the mid-18th century, after the death of her father, the Marquis Charles de Valcourt, the young noblewoman Jolanne de Valcourt fell victim to her scheming half-brother Philippe, who did not want to share the inheritance with her. With the help of the corrupt police officer Laroche, he tries to accuse her of murder and high treason, which threatens her with the death penalty. Jolanne takes on the identity of a dying prostitute in prison, is convicted of her offenses and shipped to the French colony in India, where she has to work as a slave in a brothel without rights. Always on the run from her half-brother and his accomplice, she manages to escape from the brothel, first becomes the private secretary of Governor Dupleix's wife and then comes to Maharajah Ranveer Singh, whose third wife she becomes. In this position, she can expose the machinations, provide evidence of her innocence and take revenge on the conspirators.
