The Rankin Glacier is a 19 km long glacier on the Black Coast of the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . It flows in a south-easterly, then easterly direction along the south side of the Schirmacher massif and flows into the Cline glacier immediately before the head of the Odom Inlet .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it in 1974. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the glacier in 1976 after John S. Rankin Jr. (1911–1987), biologist of the United States Antarctic Research Program , who participated in the International Weddell Sea Oceanographic Expeditions was involved between 1968 and 1969.
