Ransford Cline-Thomas

Ransford Cline-Thomas (born September 15, 1947 in Bathurst , † April 21, 2020 in New York City ) was a Gambian program announcer and news anchor , he was one of the first pioneers of the then Radio Gambia .

Life

Ransford Cline-Thomas went to school at Gambia High School in 1960 .

He was one of the first pioneers of what was then Radio Gambia, where he worked as a freelance announcer and news anchor. He later joined the newly formed radio alliance at Marina Parade in Banjul. He went to the United States for further studies and upon graduation he joined United Nations Radio and excelled in his profession. He was the producer and presenter of a popular show called " This Week at the United Nations ". The program in question was broadcast all over the world for many years, including on Radio Gambia. Until his retirement he was head of the United Nations radio.

Cline-Thomas, like his wife, was infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus and died in April 2020, he was 72 years old.
