Ranunculus cupreus is a plant type from the family of the buttercup family (Ranunculaceae).
description
Ranunculus cupreus is a perennial stem hemicryptophyte that reaches heights of 4 to 15 centimeters. The basal leaves are twofold, three-edged and sparsely fluffy. The petals are 7 to 9 millimeters in size and copper-colored on the underside. The nuts are 2.5 millimeters in size, squeezed together, smooth and bare. Its central part is thickened, and the wing is wide and thin. The beak is sickle-shaped and 1 millimeter long.
The flowering period extends from March to May.
Occurrence
Ranunculus cupreus occurs in the area of the southern Aegean. In Crete, the species grows on rocks, in Phrygana and on scree slopes at altitudes from 0 to 2200 meters.
