Raoul Laparra (born May 13, 1876 in Bordeaux , † April 4, 1943 in Suresnes ) was a French composer.

Raoul Laparra studied at the Paris Conservatory with André Gedalge , Jules Massenet , Gabriel Fauré and Albert Lavignac . In 1903 he won the Premier Grand Prix de Rome with the cantata Ulysse .

Laparra worked as a music critic for the magazines Ménestrel and Matin and taught at the Paris Conservatory. His students included Claude Champagne and Cemal Reşit Rey , among others . In his compositions there are often influences from Spanish and Basque folk music.
