Raphael Peter Schäfer (born March 6, 1981 in Saarlouis ) is a German politician ( CDU ). He has been a member of the Saarland state parliament since April 2017 .

Life

Schäfer is a graduate in administration and headed the constituency office of Peter Altmaier (MdB) for several years after completing his studies . At the time of the election to the state parliament, he was head of division in the Saarland Ministry of the Interior and Sport under Klaus Bouillon . Since 2016 he has been chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the Saarlouis city council. On March 26, 2017, in the state elections in Saarland , he succeeded in entering the Saarland state parliament through the district election proposal in the Saarlouis constituency.

As a member of the LC Rehlingen, he became German champion in endurance and obstacle running and was a member of the Bundeswehr's sports promotion group for four years .
