Rasmus Gersch (born July 12, 1982 in Wuppertal ) is a former German handball player .

Career

Gersch started playing handball in the youth department of THW Kiel . Then the back player played in the 2001/02 season at SV Mönkeberg . In the summer of 2002 he joined the second division TSV Altenholz . After Gersch took second place in the scorers list of the northern season of the 2nd division with 256 hits in the 2006/07 season, he moved to league rivals Eintracht Hildesheim . In January 2008 he left Hildesheim and joined the HC Empor Rostock . At the end of the 2007/08 season, Gersch signed a contract with the second division club Ahlener SG . After two years in Ahlen, he returned to TSV Altenholz. Since the summer of 2011, Gersch has been hunting for goals for SV Henstedt-Ulzburg . With the SVHU he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2012. After Henstedt-Ulzburg was relegated a year later, he ended his career and became a lawyer. Gersch played handball again from 2014 and played for the upper division FC St. Pauli until 2019 .

Private

His father Frank played with the clubs TUSEM Essen , VfL Bad Schwartau and THW Kiel in the handball league .
