Council for Education, Youth, Culture and Sport

The Council for Education, Youth, Culture and Sports (ger .: Education, Youth and Culture Council , EYC ) is the Council of the European Union in the composition of the charge of Education, Youth, Culture and Communication Ministers of the Member States of the European Union. Meetings take place three to four times a year.

The legal basis for the participation of the European Union in cultural policy is Article 167 of the TFEU . For the education, youth and sport policy of the EU , Art. 165 and Art. 166 TFEU ​​provide the legal framework for the competences of the European Union.

With consistent consideration of the responsibility of the member states, the EU's approach aims to develop high-quality school and vocational training as well as the development of the cultures of the member states and the cultural exchange between the member states.
