The Biale , also: Biale Kangri , is a 6772  m high mountain in the Karakoram .

location

It is located north of the Baltoro Glacier and is part of the Baltoro Muztagh . The Biale glacier flows from its south side to the Baltoro. In the north, the Dunge and Muztagh glaciers approach , which also flow to the Baltoro to the west and south and east and south. The Sino-Pakistani border runs north of these two glaciers, so the biale is entirely in Pakistan . Neighbors of the Biale are the mountains of the Trango Towers , which lie on the west side of the Dung Glacier , and the Muztagh Tower east of the Muztagh Glacier. Behind it are the 8000ers of the Karakoram, the K2 and the mountains of the Gasherbrum group . Opposite the Biale on the south side of the Baltoros is the Urdokas storage area, behind which the Masherbrum rises. To the north of the Biale, the eastern Muztagh Pass enables a transition from the Pakistani Baltoro area to the Sarpo Laggo Glacier on the Chinese north side of the Baltoro Muztagh.

Ascent history

The Biale was first climbed by a Japanese expedition in 1977. On July 22nd, Fumiyoshi Shigematsu, Tokiyoshi Kimura, Mikio Hamada and Tadanori Ochiai reached the summit. On July 24th, Masaki Aoki and Chitose Okada followed them to the summit.
