Town hall Dießen am Ammersee

The town hall of Markt Dießen am Ammersee is located at Marktplatz 1, directly at the intersection of state roads 2055 and 2056 and is a listed building. The building was built in 1704 by Michael Natter as a private home for a brewer and has been the town hall of the market since 1786 .

history

With the elevation to the ban market in 1326, Dießen received a magistrate with the right to hold meetings.

The town hall was built in 1704 by the Dießen monastery builder Michael Natter for the master brewer Blasius Schwarz. The old town hall of the market from 1624 was formerly on the eaves side opposite the current building and became dilapidated at the end of the 18th century. In 1786 the market bought the brewer's property and transformed it into the town hall. In 1862, Dießen sought its own regional court and the town hall was sold to the Staatsärar, after the dissolution of the regional court in Dießen in 1880, the market repurchased the building and uses it to this day as a meeting room and registry office. Until the end of 1909, the royal Bavarian postal expedition was also in the building, and until 1931 the police, the savings bank and the bread room were also located in the building.

The town hall was renovated outside in 1908, inside in 1925 and the paintings in 1948–49 by Georg Doll and 1958–60 by Arno Fischer.
