Thomas Joseph "TJ" Bray (born June 14,  1992 ) is an American basketball player .

career

Bray was a teenager on the basketball team at Catholic Memorial High School in the US state of Wisconsin and stood out for his versatile style of play. The native of the city of New Berlin Bray was honored in his senior year with the award as " Mr. Basketball " of the state of Wisconsin. From 2010 to 2014 he studied economics at Princeton University and served for three years on the basketball team at the college in New Jersey . In his first year, Bray remained a supplement, from 2011 he was a regular player. In total, he played 118 games for Princeton and achieved averages of 8.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.2 basket assists per match. He hit 135 of his 348 three-point throws fired, which corresponded to a success rate of 38.8 percent. The 2013/14 season stood out from his time at Princeton, when Bray posted 18 points per game at the end of his four years in the NCAA and additionally prepared 5.1 basket hits for his side men and collected 4.8 rebounds per encounter.

Bray did not get a contract in the North American professional league NBA , but at least he had  participated in the NBA summer league for the Toronto Raptors after switching to professional basketball in summer 2015 . He accepted an offer from the Italian second division club Pallacanestro Trapani and played for the team in the 2014/15 season. In the summer of 2015 he moved to Novipiu Casale Monferrato within the league. There he impressed with 14.7 points per match and signed a two-year contract with the German Bundesliga club MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg in August 2016 . The agreement was terminated after the American sustained a knee injury that required surgery. He was out for months and was signed to the Belgian first division club Brussels Basketball in January 2017. For the team from Brussels , Bray was on the field in 33 league encounters by the end of the 2016/17 season and achieved a point average of 8.2. Kolossos Rhodes from the first Greek league was his employer in the 2017/18 season, the American got 12.1 points per game.

In July 2018, Bundesliga promoted SC Rasta Vechta announced Bray's commitment. With the Lower Saxony, the American caused a sensation in the Bundesliga, made a significant contribution to Vechta finishing fourth in the main round of the 2018/19 season and second in the election for Bundesliga player of the year. With 15.6 points per match, Bray was Vechta's second best scorer in the 2018/19 season, his 8.1 assists per game meant the team's highest value. With these achievements he drew the attention of FC Bayern Munich , which signed him during the 2019 summer break.
