Town hall in Abscon

The town hall (French: Mairie ) in Abscon , a French commune in the Nord department in the Hauts-de-France region , was built in 1886.

description

The representative town hall on the Place du Général-de-Gaulle was very large for the small community. The symmetrical building with the flight of stairs to the main entrance in the central axis consists of brickwork and stone for the window frames, corners and other decorative parts. The middle risalit is dominated by a clock and the coat of arms of the municipality in a triangular gable.

There are three balconies above the portal, behind which is the council chamber, which can be reached via a monumental staircase. The slogan of the Revolution Liberté, égalité, fraternité is carved over the upper floor window of the central projection .
