Raul Cano Pangalangan

Raul Cano Pangalangan (born September 1, 1958 ) is a Filipino lawyer , professor and judge at the International Criminal Court .

Pangalangan studied political science from 1974 to 1978 at the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor of Arts degree . He then went on to study law there, which he completed in 1983 with a Bachelor of Laws . In 1986 he graduated from the Harvard Law School the Master of Laws and in 1987 the Diploma of the Hague Academy of International Law . In 1990 he received his Dr. iur. PhD. In 1984 he was appointed assistant professor at the University of the Philippines, in 1990 he became an adjunct professor and in 2000 he became a full professor of constitutional law and international public law. From 1999 to 2005 he was dean of the local law faculty. Pangalangan has lectured at the Hague Academy of International Law, Harvard University and the University of Thessaloniki and held visiting professorships at the universities of Hong Kong , Melbourne and Puerto Rico , among others .

In 1998 he was the delegate of the Philippines to participate in the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court . As a result, he worked several times as a consultant at the Philippine Supreme Court. He has been a judge at the International Criminal Court since July 13, 2015 .
