Raul Regis de Oliveira

Raul Régis de Oliveira (born October 10, 1874 in Paris , † July 9, 1942 ) was a Brazilian diplomat .

Life

Raul Regis de Oliveira was the son of a diplomat of the same name. On December 30, 1895, he entered the foreign service. Two years later, Raul Regis de Oliveira was transferred to Rome as an attaché . From 1902 he served as Secretary of the Embassy in Washington, DC He was then envoy to Tokyo for a few years. From June 2, 1913 to June 4, 1914, Oliveira served as Minister Resident in Havana and was then appointed ambassador in Vienna from March 30, 1915 to May 8, 1916 . From January 8, 1918 to April 10, 1919, he served as State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and from May 11 to December 3, 1919 as ambassador, initially in Paris and from September 19, 1920 to October 23, 1922 in The Hague . Finally, on April 29, 1925, he was appointed Ambassador to the Court of St James’s and held that position until December 26, 1939.
