The Raurisertal is the valley of the Rauriser Ache in the municipality of Rauris in the Zell am See district in the state of Salzburg in Austria . It is located north of the main Alpine ridge between the Fuschertal (to the Großglockner ) in the west and the Gastein valley in the east and flows into the Salzach valley after the Kitzlochklamm . The main town is Rauris.

A distinction is made between the lower actual Rauristal between Taxenbach and Wörth and the rear Rauristal above Wörth, which is also called Hüttwinkltal and the end of which is called Kolm-Saigurn . This valley area is particularly known for centuries of gold mining and as a vulture refuge, also because bearded vultures from the Hellbrunn zoo were released into the wild here.

At Wörth, the Seidlwinkltal branches off to the southwest , in which the old Roman road ran to the Mittertörl , which has lost its importance with the construction of today's Grossglockner High Alpine Road . In the upper section of the Seidlwinkl-Ache valley , about 1530 meters above sea level, lies the Rauriser Tauernhaus , a refuge that dates back to the late medieval mule-trade .

To the south of Bucheben, the Hüttwinkl-Ache takes on the Krumlbach, which flows in from the west . In the branching side valley, the Krumltal , there is an observation station of the WWF for eagles, griffon vultures and especially bearded vultures next to the Bräualm at an altitude of about 1600  m . The birds released here for the first time in 1986 as part of an attempted reintroduction to the Moosenwand and Rote Wand moved to traditional roosts for vultures in the Hohe Tauern . After over thirty bearded vultures had been released by 1999, the first young bearded vulture living in the wild was spotted in the Rauris Krumltal in March 2010.
