Ray Weinberg
Raymond "Ray" Henry Weinberg (born October 23, 1926 in Alexandra ; † May 30, 2018 ) was an Australian hurdler who specialized in the 110-meter distance .
In 1948 he reached the semi-finals at the London Olympics , and in 1950 he won silver over 120 yard hurdles at the British Empire Games in Auckland .
At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 , he was sixth. As part of the Australian team in the 4-by-100 and the 4-by-400 meter relay , he was eliminated in both competitions in the preliminary stages.
He was five times Australian champion over 120 yard hurdles (1948, 1950-1953) and twice over 220 yard hurdles (1951, 1952). In 1952 he was also the English champion over 120 yard hurdles. He set his personal best in this discipline of 14.0 s on February 9, 1952 in Melbourne .
