Career

As a player

Raymond Atteveld started his career at HFC Haarlem . From there he made the jump to England, where he played for Everton for three years . In the second half of the 1991/1992 season he was loaned to West Ham United , where he was the first Dutchman in the club's history. At the end of the season, however, there were only one league game and two FA Cup appearances for him. In the summer of the same year he moved to Bristol City, but again after only half a year he played for KSV Waregem. The other stations of his career were Roda Kerkrade , Vitesse Arnheim , FC Groningen and ADO Den Haag .

As a trainer

A year after the end of his playing career Atteveld was assistant coach at the first division promoted ADO Den Haag , who also represented his last station as a player. The club just managed to stay in the league in the first year. After another year in the honor division , he took the post as assistant coach at Roda Kerkrade , for which he was also active as a player. After Roda's coach Huub Stevens was kicked out , he took over as coach in February 2007 and led the team to the cup final in 2007/2008, where they lost 2-0 to Feyenoord Rotterdam . On October 7, 2008, Raymond Atteveld was released from Roda Kerkrade.
