biography

Raymond Khoury was born in Lebanon but moved to Rye , New York , when the civil war broke out in 1975 . After finishing school, he returned to Lebanon to study architecture at the American University of Beirut . There he illustrated several children's books for Oxford University Press . When the civil war broke out again in 1984 , he left Lebanon again and went to London . Due to the poor labor market situation in the mid-80s, he also completed an MBA program at the European Institute of Business Administration in Fontainebleau . He then worked as an investment banker for Banque Paribas Capital Markets in London.

On a business trip to the Bahamas , he met a Wall Street banker who had contacts in the film business. Together with him he developed an idea for a film, and when the drafts of the script did not meet their expectations, he quickly wrote his own. His first two scripts were nominated for a Fulbright Fellowship in Screenwriting Award , so he retired entirely from banking.

Since then he has written scripts for productions in Los Angeles and London. Scriptum is based on the subject of Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown . The novel was filmed in 2008 under the title Scriptum - The Last Knight Templar and had its world premiere on January 25, 2009.
