Frank Boehmert

Frank Böhmert (born March 30, 1962 in Berlin ) is a German writer .

Böhmert broke off his school career shortly before graduating from high school and subsequently took on various jobs. At the same time, he wrote around a hundred short stories in the 1980s . The story Harry wants to become a walrus was filmed by Damir Lukačević (winner of the Federal Film Prize ).

In the mid-1990s, Böhmert received the author's grant from the Prussian Sea Action Foundation .

In 2003, Böhmert wrote the novel Die Sternenhorcher for the Perry Rhodan book series Andromeda , which was nominated for the Kurd Laßwitz Prize . In 2004 he continued his work for the series with Die Traumkapseln in der Odyssey , which ended with the writing of volume 2341 of the main series. In March 2007 his novel Die PSI-Fabrik was published as the fifth volume in the Perry Rhodan series The Posbi War . In 2016, his short story Operation Gnadenakt was awarded the German Science Fiction Prize for "Best Short Story".

Böhmert also emerged as a translator. In addition to fantasy literature he transferred among other things, the novel The Graduate ( The Graduate ) by Charles Webb into German.
