Rebutia padcayensis is a species of plant in the genus Rebutia from the cactus family(Cactaceae).

description

Rebutia padcayensis often sprouts with depressed spherical, green to gray-green bodies. The bodies reach heights of up to 2.5 centimeters with a diameter of 4 centimeters. Nothing is known about the roots. The 14 to 17 ribs are divided into clearly recognizable humps. The areoles on it are whitish to brown. A central spine is rarely present. The 7 to 15 radial spines are light yellow with a brown tip and turn gray with age. They are between 3 and 20 millimeters long.

The flowers are red with a white throat, orange or yellow, are 3 to 4.5 inches long and have the same diameter. The pericarpel and the corolla are bare and only rarely covered with 1 to 2 bristles per scaly axilla.

Distribution, systematics and endangerment

Rebutia padcayensis is distributed in southern Bolivia in the Tarija department and in northern Argentina in the province of Salta and Tucumán at altitudes of 3000 to 4400 meters.

The first description was published in 1970 by Walter Rausch (* 1928).

In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
