The legal dispatch for health care ( RDG ), or simply just legal dispatch , is a German specialist magazine that has been published by G&S Verlag GbR in Cologne since 2003. In addition to the main focus on health law , the interdisciplinary magazine also deals in particular with topics from the areas of health policy , medicine and nursing science .
history
The legal dispatch has been published since 2003 by the Cologne- based G&S Verlag GbR. The editor is Volker Großkopf , Professor of Law at the Catholic University of North Rhine-Westphalia , Department of Health Care. The editor-in-chief is the law graduate Michael Schanz. Großkopf and Schanz are also managing directors of G&S Verlag.
In the editorial of the first edition, Großkopf mentions the "high-risk interlinking of medical and legal issues ... which leads to uncertainties among the staff employed in the healthcare sector" as the reason for the market launch. The aim of the new journal is therefore to take up complex, legal issues from the areas of the different health professions and to present them in an understandable way for non-lawyers.
Regular editions of the Rechtsdepesche appear every two months and were initially produced in two- color printing , and since 2007 completely in four-color printing . In contrast to the vast majority of magazines, the title lettering on the magazine cover is not placed horizontally, but upright on the left edge of the magazine . As a further sign of recognition a stylized a serpent is Paragraphenzeichen that based on the staff of Aesculapius umschlängelt a bar. This is to express the connection between law and medicine .
In May 2004 G&S Verlag entered into a sales cooperation with Vincentz Verlag (today: Vincentz Network ), which has since been terminated. Since August 2007 there has been a sales cooperation with the largest legal specialist publisher in Germany, CH Beck . Up to the sixth edition of the 13th year, the Beck logo (the " Greif ") was featured on the front page as an external sign of this partnership . Furthermore, the legal dispatch was included in the specialist module "Medical and Health Law PLUS" from Beck-Online .
At the beginning of 2017, the magazine's appearance was redesigned. a. In terms of the type area and typeface , the cover, in particular, was revised and is now provided with an illustration.
Content
Each (regular) issue has a special focus topic with relevance to health law, such as measures depriving of liberty , evidence in the event of treatment errors , risk management , processing of medical devices , care documentation , patient rights , euthanasia , etc. The authors of the main article, but also of the other contributions, are in front mainly lawyers , medical professionals , health economists or nursing scientists ( e.g. Sabine Bartholomeyczik , Gertrud Hundenborn, Barbara Knigge-Demal).
Another core area of the magazine is the presentation of current legislative proposals as well as editorially processed court decisions of major importance for the health care system. In addition, the legal dispatch contains other categories, e.g. B. contain health policy projects, innovations in science and practice, short messages and much more.
Offshoot
In addition to the trade journal, the website Rechtsdepesche Online was launched in 2004 . In addition to the numerous and freely accessible offers, a fee-based decision database is offered here. In 2014 the offer was completely redesigned. Prior to this, there was already an expansion of the company's social media activities .
On the occasion of the 2nd JuraHealth Congress , which took place in Berlin on May 14th and 15th, 2009, a special edition of the legal dispatch was published for the first time . Since then, two special editions have been published every year in addition to the six regular editions. These differ from the regular editions primarily through a stronger thematic structure, a different color scheme and binding technique.
The legal dispatch has also been published as an e-paper since 2013 .
