The good

Reden is a district of the city of Pattensen in Lower Saxony . The village is located in the Calenberger Land north of Pattensen and Koldingen on the K223 and on the K224 to Harkenbleck .

history

Reden Castle, the ancestral seat of the von Reden family, was built around 1230 . Today's manor stands partly on the remains of the former castle.

On March 1, 1974, Reden was incorporated into the city of Pattensen.

politics

The head of the village is Edeltraut Ruppelt-Czybulka ( SPD ).

coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved on November 28, 1961 by the Hanover Regional Council.

Blazon : "Divided three times by red and silver, covered with a wall anchor in mixed up colors."

The owner of the manor at the time, Wulbrand von Reden, had agreed that the coat of arms of his gender could be used for the municipal coat of arms. The concession, which is gratifying for the place, is at the same time honoring the dynasty of the courts and lords that is closely connected to the local history. The wall anchor that dominates the coat of arms is a rarely used symbol in heraldic terminology. The connecting power of the wall anchor, here filling the shield from top to bottom, is intended to emphasize the unity of the village and the property and the harmony of its inhabitants.

The coat of arms was designed by the heraldist Alfred Brecht.

Culture and sights

  • The chapel in Reden is privately owned.
  • The manor Reden, which was first mentioned around 1227, is still owned by the von Reden family and is closely connected to the town of Reden.
