The Reformed Church in the village of Chamues-ch of the double town of La Punt-Chamues-ch in the Upper Engadine is a Protestant - Reformed church under the monument of the canton of Grisons . It is also called San Andrea after its patronage .

History and equipment

A Romanesque church building is first mentioned in 1370. In the pre-Reformation period, a new choir was built in 1470 , the nave was enlarged and the tower, which lies on the west of the façade, is enlarged.

In the nave and choir there is an extensive, delicate net vault that gives the rather dark interior a lightness. In addition, since 1976 there have been colorful stained glass by the Chur painter Dea Murk (1932–2003). The windows in the choir area thematically take on the red of the Sunday costumes of the Engadine women, while the windows in the nave deal with the working days: the golden yellow of the grain, the brown of the fertile fields and the blue of the Upper Engadine lakes.

In 1980/1981, wall paintings with motifs, especially on figures of saints and - on the right in a niche where a side altar used to be - the Maria lactans were exposed and restored. The baptismal font shows the late Gothic style and dates to 1505. The pulpit with sound cover was installed after the end of the Bündner turmoil in 1651. The present organ was completed in 1998.

Church organization
