Reformed Church of Fidaz
The Reformed Church in Fidaz at Flims in the Grisons Surselva is an Evangelical - Reformed church under cantonal conservation .
History and equipment
The Fidaz church, first documented in the 9th century, has always been a subsidiary church of Flims and has been the patron saint of St. Simplizi . During excavations in 1925 the foundations of the apse were found.
Its current style goes back to a Romanesque late medieval building and is characterized by a flat-roofed nave and a striking apse from around 1200, in the middle of which the pulpit is attached with a baptismal font . The steeple with a pointed helmet , which connects to the facade in the west, was built in the 13th century.
Church organization
Fidaz belongs to the Flims parish. Since the majority of the latter is German-speaking, the Rhaeto-Romanic church services take place in the Fidaz church . Within the Evangelical Reformed Church of Graubünden , Fidaz and Flims are part of the I Ob dem Wald colloquium .
