Reformed Church Praden
The Reformed Church in Praden on the left side of the valley of Schanfigg is a Protestant - Reformed church under the monument of the canton of Grisons .
History and equipment
The mother church for the left-Schanfigg was up to the Reformation , the Church of St. George in Castiel . Praden had its own church during the plague during the turmoil in Graubünden at the beginning of the 17th century, when the people of Praden were denied access to the cemetery in Tschiertschen and instead were given money to build their own church and cemetery. This was realized in 1642 as a simple, east-facing building. A restoration in 1958, which particularly affected the appearance of the church tower , was reversed in 1983, so that today's church largely shows the shape from the time it was founded.
The house organ inside the church is one of the oldest, if not the oldest still in use church organ in Graubünden. On the wings of the prospectus you can see King David playing the harp and an angel blowing trombone .
Church organization
The Evangelical Reformed Church Grisons leads Praden that with Tschiertschen and Passugg - Araschgen the Kirchgemeinde Steinbach (the name comes from the Steinbach Tobel below Praden forth) forms and with this in Pastorationsgemeinschaft with Maladers is within the Colloquium VI Schanfigg-Churwalden .
