history

Organ in the Sils village church

In 1619 shortly before the outbreak of the Bündner turmoil , today's building was erected as a hall church without a choir . The latter was only added as an extension in 1776. The church tower , which connects to the long side of the church in the northwest, goes back to the year 1700.

The big fire in the village in 1887 also devastated the church, which immediately took two years to restore and gave the tower its current pointed helmet.

Furnishing

The interior of the church, which was last renovated in 2009, bears features of classicism within a uniform baroque style , which the organ from 1973 is based on.

Church organization

Sils i. D. belongs within the Evangelical-Reformed regional church of Graubünden as an independent parish to the Colloquium III Nid dem Wald .
