The Refuge du Fond des Fours is a refuge located in the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . The refuge, at an altitude of 2537 m, belongs to the administration of the Vanoise National Park .

The refuge offers overnight accommodation for a maximum of 42 hikers. This capacity falls to 18 camps if the hut is not managed. The hut is managed in spring between mid-March and mid-May and in summer from mid-June to mid-September.

The refuge has 3 individual buildings. In one of the 3 buildings are the bedrooms with mattresses, blankets and pillows. In the second building there is the kitchen, the dining room and the lounge. The third building is reserved for the hut keeper, employees and employees of the Vanoise National Park.

Approach

The normal route starts from the parking lot du Manchet, which is located near Val d'Isère . You should allow around 1h30 for the ascent, which is not difficult. When approaching, you have to overcome a difference in altitude of 600 m.
