from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The administrative district of Lower Bavaria and Upper Palatinate existed as the administrative district in Bavaria from 1932 to 1959.

history

The administrative reorganization of Bavaria in 1817 included the Regenkreis (from 1838 Upper Palatinate and Regensburg) and Lower Danube District (from 1838 Lower Bavaria). In the course of state simplification in 1932, the governments of Lower Bavaria and Upper Palatinate were merged. Regensburg became the administrative seat of the newly founded "Government District of Lower Bavaria and Upper Palatinate" . In 1939 the administrative district was expanded to include areas that belonged to Czechoslovakia until the Munich Agreement in 1938 , the districts of Bergreichenstein , Markt Eisenstein and Prachatitz , which were separated again in 1945. With the entry into force of the Bavarian Constitution of 1946 (BV) , the administrative districts (districts) were formally restored in accordance with Art. 185 BV in the form from before 1932/33. In 1959, in accordance with the provisions of Article 185, the Niederbayern administrative district (with its government in Landshut ) was re-established as an independent administrative district. Certain connections between Lower Bavaria and the Upper Palatinate were and will be maintained, so they form a common administrative court district and were subject to a joint police headquarters in Lower Bavaria / Upper Palatinate until 2009 .
