The Upper Palatinate Police Headquarters is part of the Bavarian Police based in Regensburg . The police headquarters emerged on June 1, 2009 from the Niederbayern / Oberpfalz police headquarters, which was dissolved in the course of the Bavarian police reform in 2009.
The Upper Palatinate Police Headquarters is responsible for an area of 9,690 square kilometers with around 1.08 million inhabitants. The area is identical to the administrative region of Upper Palatinate .

The Upper Palatinate police headquarters have been using Facebook and Twitter for public relations since November 2016 . The use of Segways has been tested in a one-year pilot project at the Police Station South in Regensburg since October 2018 . These are two vehicles from the Segway brand, model PTi2SE with a maximum speed of 20 km / h and a range of up to 38 kilometers.
