The Police Headquarters Upper Bavaria South is a police association of the Bavarian Police ( state police ) based in Rosenheim . It reports directly to the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior . The police chief of the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria South is Robert Kopp.

Subordinate to this are 35 police stations , four traffic police stations , seven criminal police stations , five investigation stations, three operational supplementary services and an Alpine emergency train. Around 2,800 police officers and employees look after around 1.25 million residents in 246 municipalities on an area of 9,178 square kilometers in southern Upper Bavaria .
The association emerged from the Upper Bavaria Police Headquarters, based in Munich , which was split into the Upper Bavaria North Police Headquarters and the Upper Bavaria South Police Headquarters as part of the 2008 police reform on January 1, 2009 .
