The Lower Bavaria Police Headquarters is part of the Bavarian Police with headquarters in Straubing (Wittelsbacherhöhe). The police headquarters emerged on June 1, 2009 from the Niederbayern / Oberpfalz police headquarters , which was dissolved in the course of the Bavarian police reform in 2009.
The Lower Bavaria Police Headquarters is responsible for an area of 10,330 square kilometers with around 1.19 million inhabitants. The area is identical to the administrative region of Lower Bavaria .
Police President is Herbert Wenzl, his deputy is Police Vice President Manfred Jahn.
