The Lower Franconia Police Headquarters, based at Frankfurter Straße 79 in 97082 Würzburg, is an area presidium of the Bavarian Police ( state police ) and is responsible for the entire Lower Franconia administrative region . It reports directly to the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior .

2,637 police officers (511 of whom are women) work in the Presidium, 362 of whom work for the Lower Franconian criminal police. The area of ​​responsibility is 8,532 square kilometers with around 1.34 million people. The officials are supported by 409 employees, most of whom work in typing, IT and logistics, as well as 114 members of the security guard in 27 Lower Franconian towns and communities.
