Regimini militantis ecclesiae
With the founding bull Regimini militantis ecclesiae (dt. "To the government of the conflicting church " ) of September 27, 1540, by Pope Paul III. , the Jesuit order was finally confirmed.
Order bases
On May 3, 1539, the companions around Ignatius of Loyola , after they had decided to live together in one order, summarized the results of their deliberations. The congregation called itself the “Society (Compania de) Jesu” and its founder put together the “Summa Instituti”, the original draft of the constitution, at the end of June 1539.
Approval
Pope Paul III commissioned the Dominican Tommaso Badia to review the rules of the order and in 1539 orally confirmed the founding of the order and its rules after Badia had approved it. But it was not until almost a year later that the bull 'Regimini militantis ecclesiae' was made out in the palace of San Marco and the “Summa Instituti” was added to it.
