Regina Peeters

Regina Peeters (born September 29, 1964 in Straelen ) is a German librarian .

She completed her training from 1984 to 1987 at the University of Applied Sciences for Library and Documentation in Cologne. She then took over the management of the library of the European Translators' College in Straelen. In 1995 she published the book On Sole and Other Recipes from the European College of Translators .

In terms of professional policy, she campaigned for the interests of those working in One Person Libraries . From 1997 to 2007 she chaired the Commission for One-Person Librarians in the Information Library Association and in 1997 gave a reader entitled Robinson Crusoe Syndrome and What To Do About It ( ISBN 3-924659-28-1 , some contributions are also available online).

In 2002 she did her doctorate at the Humboldt University in Berlin under Engelbert Plassmann . The dissertation published under the title Eine Bibliothek für Babel ( ISBN 3-89722-927-7 ) deals with the information needs of literary translators and the resulting requirements for a special library .

In 2003 she was awarded the Karl Preusker Medal of the German Literature Conference.

Since 2016 she has been the managing director of the European College of Translators in Straelen.
