The decision in favor of Toumazou was made when the Imperial College was selected on January 23, 2013 and announced on January 30, 2013. Toumazou markets the components he has developed for DNA analysis in his own company. Toumazou was awarded the Faraday Medal by the Institution of Electrical Engineers for his rapid DNA analysis .
