European inventor award

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The European Inventor Award is awarded by the European Patent Office (EPA).

The award recognizes European inventors and teams in the field of industry, small and medium-sized enterprises and research. In addition, a single prize is awarded annually to an inventor for his life's work and another prize to an inventor who does not come from Europe.

In some years the partners are the country that holds the EU Council Presidency and the European Commission . Up to and including 2009, the prize was called the European Inventor of the Year Award . It is the only European award that recognizes solutions in applied technology.
