Regnitzland

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Regnitzland is an area designation in Upper Franconia based on the two Regnitz rivers.

The southern and northern Regnitz describe an area in the district of Hof and the adjacent district of Wunsiedel , which is known as Regnitzland . In terms of settlement history, this term already had a meaning when Hof or Regnitzlosau was founded . Later, despite the distinguishing features, it appears mostly synonymous with the terms Bavarian Vogtland or Hofer Land . In 1373 the Regnitzland was sold from the control of the Weida bailiffs to the burgraves of Nuremberg . Heinrich von Kotzau is among the witnesses .
