Regula Pestalozzi

Regula Pestalozzi , birth name Regula Henggeler , (born November 1, 1921 in Zurich ; † July 15, 2000 there ; entitled to live there ) was a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

biography

After studying law at the Universities of Zurich and Geneva , she received her doctorate in 1948 and was admitted to the bar in 1959 . From then on she worked in the joint law firm with her husband. From 1967 to 1970 she was president of the legal commission of the women's center in Zurich. She was on the board of the Federation of Swiss Women's Associations from 1968 to 1979 and president from 1971 to 1974. From 1978 to 1987 she was on the board of the Swiss Evangelical Church Federation .

From 1970 she was in the party leadership of the FDP of the canton of Zurich and sat on the cantonal council from 1971 to 1975 . Between 1974 and 1978 she was the head of the health and economic department on the city ​​council .

Pestalozzi was highly controversial because of a criminal complaint she had filed for euthanasia against Urs Peter Haemmerli , chief physician of the medical department at Triemli City Hospital (" Haemmerli affair "). From 1978 she worked as a lawyer again.
