Reichartsried is a district of the Upper Swabian municipality of Eggenthal in the Ostallgäu district in Bavaria .

location

The village is west of Eggenthal on a ridge above the headwaters of the Mindel .

history

The place name points to an origin of the place as a clearing settlement of a man called "Rihheri". 1500 the place is mentioned as Reichartzriet.

The place is first mentioned at the beginning of the twelfth century in the chronicles of the Ottobeuren monastery, the possessions and later a "Mühle zu Richertsriet " from the Ronsberg Margraves Ronsberg to the monastery under Abbot Rupert (1102–1144) and Abbot Isingrim (1145 –1180) lets go.

Around 1749, further parts of the village fell to the Kempten monastery under Prince Abbot Engelbert von Syrgenstein through the division of the Ronsberg rule of Stein . Other farms in the village were owned by the Irsee monastery until secularization .
