Mayers belongs to the Holzstetten settlement group and is part of the Upper Swabian community of Eggenthal in the Ostallgäu district in Bavaria .

The hamlet is west of Eggenthal.

history

The small hamlet first appeared in documents in 1505 as belonging to the rule of Stein. After their division, it and the surrounding towns came to the Kempten Monastery under Prince Abbot Engelbert von Syrgenstein in 1749 . In old literature the place appears under the name Maiers .

Until May 1, 1978, Mayers belonged to the previously independent municipality of Bayersried in the Marktoberdorf district . Bayersried was then incorporated into Eggenthal as part of the regional reform.
