|
The hamlet of Grub is part of the Upper Swabian community of Eggenthal in the Ostallgäu district in Bavaria .
location
Grub is located a few hundred meters northwest in a depression in a ridge above the town of Eggenthal.
history
The small hamlet first appeared on July 6, 1209 in a confirmation bull from Pope Innocent III. as belonging to the goods of the Ursberg monastery . The place name should be due to the obvious location of the hamlet in a depression. Grub has belonged to the Eggenthal parish of St. Afra since 1495.
Architectural monuments
In the center of the village there is a small court chapel, which was built in 1948 (according to other sources: 1884) and is a listed building.
