Reichenstrasse 40 (Quedlinburg)
The house Reichenstraße 40 is a listed building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located in the northern part of the historic Quedlinburger Neustadt and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site . The building is entered in the Quedlinburg monument register as an arable citizen house . The building Reichenstrasse 39 , which is also listed, is adjacent to the north and the building Reichenstrasse 41 to the south .
Architecture and history
The two-storey half - timbered house was built in 1686 by the Quedlinburg master carpenter Martin Lange . The inscription MARTEN LANGE ZIMMERMAN refers to him . It is provided with a coat of arms formed from axes . On the upper floor there are diamond crosses as decoration and on the sides the half-timbered figure of the half man . The compartments are provided with decorative lining. A passage leads through the south side of the house. The building was renovated around 1830.
